The workshop's participatory approach yielded key insights into both local and global agricultural systems. Participants identified the following areas for further action: (1) Restoration and Equity-Ideas centered around land repatriation and cooperative ownership models to reverse decades of land loss among Black farmers. (2) Technological Innovation- Exploring tech-driven solutions like blockchain for transparent supply chains and sustainable farming practices. (3) Business Model Innovation- The group considered new ways to revitalize farming as a wealth generator for Black Americans through agrotourism, local food systems, and health-centered agriculture. The weekend culminated with identifying several priority areas for further exploration: Strengthening the economic viability of small Black-owned farms; Building a resilient agricultural system that addresses food security and community health; Developing sustainable farming practices tailored to the specific challenges faced by Black communities globally. Together, we successfully imagined and strategized for the future of Black farmers, advancing justice and sustainability in agricultural development.
